May I bring my pet?

Small pets are certainly welcome; however, it is understandable that each case must be judged on a resident’s ability to properly care for them and on the comfort and peace of others. Prior approval of management is necessary. The pet fee will apply.

Who determines what level of assistance I will receive?

The level of assistance is determined by the Uniform Assessment Instrument, a form issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. It has been designed to provide an objective assessment of your daily need for assistance in various activities such as eating, bathing, dressing and other matters.

At Harbourway there are three levels of care: Assisted Living, Intensive Assisted Living and Memory Care. Click here to learn about the services and amenities of each of them.

Does Harbourway levy an admission or entry fee?

There is a small one-time administration fee.  A deposit is required to reserve a prospective resident’s unit at Harbourway. Please note that if the reserved unit becomes available and is not accepted then the deposit will be forfeited.

What is included in my monthly rate?

What about housekeeping?

Housekeeping is done two or three times a week, depending upon the level of care being provided. Laundering of bed and bath linens is provided under the same criteria, in most instances once or twice a week. There are free laundry machines on every floor.

May I smoke?

In respect for our residents’ health and due to the use of certain medical equipment here, no smoking is allowed anywhere inside Harbourway. However, smoking is allowed outside of the facility.

May I have use a microwave oven in my kitchen?

More than likely yes, you may. However, for the safety of everyone at Harbourway, each case will be judged on the resident’s ability to properly and safely use her or his microwave oven.
