We all usually deal with it at some time in our lives - - worrying about or caring for an aging loved one. But how do we know what changes in actions or behavior are normal, and which ones might be signaling something more serious?
We have here with us today Marie Oberwetter. Marie serves as Assistant General Manager for the Atlantic Shores Retirement Community - - a 100-acre campus in Virginia Beach, Virginia, featuring a 50-bed skilled nursing facility, 54 apartment home assisted living facility, a 14-bed Memory Care unit, and 419 independent living units, ranging from condos to freestanding villa homes.
In this position, Marie has played a key role in developing a program for personal nursing assistance, delivered in the comfort of resident’s apartments.
Her latest accomplishment has been the development of the beautiful new Harbourway Assisted Living building, which opened this past October, and Harbourway’s new Memory Care Unit -- exclusively designed to provide state-of-the-art care for Alzheimer’s and dementia.
